About the event
In this class, participants will learn to make a bao dough, and then shape and steam their fresh bao. Chef Lam will also teach students to make two fillings for their bao, a chicken ginger filling for their pan-fried bao as well as a smoked meat filling for their steamed bao. Chef Lam will pair the bao with a fresh pickle.
Chef Lam comes from Northern California where she has spent most of her career as a Pastry Chef. Born in Hong Kong and raised in the Bay Area she attended the Le Cordon Bleu in London. She learned from greats like Sherry Yard at Spago in Beverly Hills, Thomas Keller at Bouchon Bakery and Corporate Pastry Chef for Michelin Star Chef Roland Passot.
